Context & narrative
How this work reads within the collection — statement first, extended lore when present.
About this work
A legend carved from salt, smoke, and stolen gold — Blackeyed Bill Willox sails where maps end and fear begins.
Collector lore
They say Blackeyed Bill Willox wasn’t born — he crawled out of the sea during a storm that sank three warships and a king’s pride.
His left eye is dark not from blindness, but from something older. Sailors swear it glows when blood is about to spill. Others say it sees through lies. Bill never confirms either rumor. He lets men believe what keeps them obedient.
He built his crew from outcasts, deserters, and cutthroats who had nothing left to lose. Loyalty aboard his ship isn’t earned with kindness — it’s earned with survival. Cross him once, and you feed the tide. Stand with him, and you might live long enough to spend your share.
Bill doesn’t chase treasure.
He chases leverage.
Merchant fleets, corrupt governors, rival captains — all of them eventually learn the same lesson: the horizon doesn’t belong to the crown.
It belongs to Blackeyed Bill Willox.
And when his sails appear against the dying sun, even the bravest men start praying to gods they forgot existed.
