Context & narrative
How this work reads within the collection — statement first, extended lore when present.
About this work
A crowned martyr bound in barbed wire and iron, the King of Pain rules not through mercy or fear—but through endurance. His throne is suffering, and his silence commands it.
Collector lore
He was not born a king. He earned it in darkness.
In the cathedrals beneath a dying world, where hope rotted and prayers rusted in the air, he took the crown no one else would bear. The spikes were forged from broken vows. The wire stitched across his eyes was wound by his own hands, so he would never again be blinded by illusion. The iron mask was sealed to his face the day he chose silence over screams.
They say he absorbs the suffering of others—that every cut, every betrayal, every grief finds its way to him. And he does not break. He does not kneel. He does not weep.
He endures.
And in that endurance, he rules.
