Long before roads cut through the wild… before axes bit into bark and fire cleared the land… there were things that belonged to the forest.

The Boulder Troll is not a creature in the traditional sense.
It is a warden.

Born of stone, bound by root, and fed by the slow passage of time, it exists as part of the land itself. Moss grows across its skin. Vines wrap its limbs. The forest does not hide it… it claims it.

For centuries, it does nothing.

It waits.

The Troll does not hunt for hunger. It does not roam without purpose. It rises only when the balance is disturbed—when too much is taken, when the forest is wounded beyond what it can quietly recover.

And when it rises…
the forest goes silent.

Birds vanish. Wind stills. Even the insects retreat.

Because everything knows what comes next.

The Boulder Troll does not charge.
It advances.

Slow. Unstoppable. Each step deliberate, crushing root and stone alike—not out of rage, but necessity. It does not see intruders as enemies… only as problems to be removed.

Most who encounter it never realize what they’re facing until it’s too late.

They mistake it for terrain.
For shadow.
For something unmoving.

Until it isn’t.

And by the time they understand…
the forest has already made its decision.
