The Mountain Hungers is a complete reimagining of my earlier piece Man Eating Mountain Troll, rebuilding the original concept around overwhelming scale, aggression, and extreme perspective. A colossal troll tears through the snowbound mountainside, its massive claw reaching into the foreground as a lone warrior braces for an encounter he has almost no chance of surviving.
The piece pushes exaggerated anatomy, violent foreshortening, sweeping movement, and a cold, storm-driven atmosphere while keeping the focus on the confrontation between two dramatically unequal opponents. Snow, shattered rock, whipping hair, and the troll's monstrous expression all converge on that single moment before impact.
