When a soul loosens from flesh, it does not wander aimlessly into darkness. It is met. Weighed. Remembered. The Keeper Between Worlds stands in the shadowed halls where torches burn without flame and time drips like water from cavern stone. The skulls upon his staff are not trophies of conquest—they are symbols of witness. Each represents an age ended, a cycle closed.

Long ago, when necromancers sought to shatter the Veil and bind spirits back into broken bodies, it was the Keeper who answered. Entire covens vanished in a single night. Their names were erased not from history—but from memory itself.

His horns are said to have grown from the roots of the World Tree when it first pierced the heavens and the underdark. His strength is not for war, though he is more than capable of it. His strength is required because some souls refuse their passage. Some realms press too hard against the divide.

When storms rage without cause, when candles burn blue at midnight, when the dying whisper of a towering figure in the dark—
