Collector lore
Among the highland clans, strength earns respect—but endurance earns legend. Gretchid was not the largest of her brood, nor the firstborn, yet she was the last one standing when the Brisbock stronghold fell beneath a surprise night raid. While others charged in reckless rage, she held the gate alone, shield splintering, blade chipped to bone. When dawn came, the invaders lay broken in the snow.
From that day forward she was named Shield-Maiden—not for defense alone, but for her vow: no warrior under her banner would fall without her standing between them and death.
She trains in ice storms and hunts in blizzards, believing comfort dulls the edge of battle. Her tattoos mark victories not in conquest, but in protection—every line a life preserved. Rival warlords mock her discipline until they meet her gaze across the battlefield. There is no frenzy there. No chaos.
Only certainty.
