Collector lore
Layla learned early that the wasteland doesn’t reward mercy — it rewards spectacle. She built her name in rusted scrap arenas hammered together from old shipping containers and collapsed overpasses, fighting under floodlights powered by coughing generators. They call her a “rat” because she slips through gaps no one else sees, vanishes into blind spots, and strikes where armor parts and pride live. She studies opponents the way gamblers study cards — patterns, tells, weaknesses — then dismantles them in front of screaming crowds who swore she’d lose.
She moves from burnt-out camp to burnt-out camp with dust on her boots and winnings in her pocket, letting the townsfolk bet against her because they always do. Outsider. Woman. Too lean. Too calm. That mistake funds her fuel, her weapons, and the quiet upgrades stitched into her gear. By the time the crowd realizes they backed the wrong fighter, Layla is already gone — another arena emptied, another legend spreading ahead of her like smoke on the horizon.
